Cutting or Copying to the Clipboard
The Cut and Copy items on the Edit menu move selected
process elements onto the clipboard. These two menu items are not available
unless there is at least one process element selected.
- Cut removes the selected process elements from the current worksheet
and adds them to the clipboard, replacing whatever was previously on the clipboard.
Process flow arrows joining two selected process elements are added to the clipboard.
Process flow arrows that enter or leave a selected process element are deleted
from the worksheet and do not appear on the clipboard. If a summary task is cut,
its detail-level worksheet is also cut onto the clipboard.
- Copy copies the selected process elements onto the clipboard,
replacing whatever was previously on the clipboard, without removing them
from the current worksheet. Process flow arrows joining two selected process
elements are also copied to the clipboard. The worksheet is not changed.
If a summary task is copied, its detail-level worksheet is also copied onto
the clipboard.
Cut and Copy are also available as toolbar buttons.
The Cut icon, which is being pointed at in the figure below, resembles
a pair of scissors. The Copy icon, just to the right of the Cut
icon, resembles two copies of the same document.

Pull down the Edit menu and choose the Cut item or click on the
Cut tool-bar button. The selected process elements and all arrows connecting
them have been removed from the worksheet. You are left with the two adjacent
milestones that define this phase.
